THE MOTHER FIRE PERFORMANCE.
UTA BEKAIA

Performance “The Mother Fire” by Uta Bekaia and Mikheil Abramishvili acted as a preview of Uta Bekaia’s exhibition project, scheduled to take place in Amsterdam in 2025. This performance provided a glimpse of a realm where queerness meets utopia, reimagining ancient traditions and baroque music through a futuristic lens. Mikheil Abramishvili, a countertenor from Tbilisi, Georgia, performed selected baroque arias, adorned in attire created by Uta Bekaia, in Oude Kerk, Amsterdam.

Abramishvili's character took on a mystical entity, a supernatural guise, which guided the audience though dimensional thresholds, facilitating a transformative journey.
